The birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, and Lal Bahadur Shastri was celebrated in the school on 1st Oct 2024. The program commenced with offering floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri by Mr Ajay Shirke, Head Master BMS Nagpur, Dr J S Riar, Principal BSS Nagpur and Hon/ Capt Chand Mohammad and academic staff of the school.

While speaking on the occasion, Mrs Beena Gupta, Asst Teacher highlighted the contribution of Mahatma Gandhi in winning back our country’s freedom. “Today we stand united and independent as a nation because of the sacrifice and concerned efforts of Mahatma Gandhi who didn't bow down to the adverse circumstances posed by Britishers and emerged victorious against all odds”, she said.  She further said that he dedicated his entire life in the pursuit of truth (satya). In order to dislodge the British Rule, he started ‘Quit India Movement’ ‘Dandi March’, ‘Fight for untouchables, ‘Non – Co-Operation Movement and ‘Khilafat Movement’.

She further threw light on Lal Bahadur Shastri’s life and said that he was a very simple human being, great administrator and inspiring leader. He left no stone unturned during his political carreer recognising the significance of soldiers and farmers. He gave the famous slogan ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’. She urged Ramdandees to imbibe the qualities of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.

The emcee of the programme was Ramdandee Aazaan Baig of Class XII.
